This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (T32), Position Description Number D0849
and is part of the AL AASF 2, National Guard.

Duties
1. Assists in reviewing supply transactions or providing customer service. Codes and classifies requisitions, shipping orders, and other documents; extracts requests for other sources of supply or refers them to inventory control point when stock in unavailable or cannot be shipped.
2. Determines stock replenishment for supplies and other materiel centrally located within funding limitations. Assists is assuring that supplies and monies are not wasted through excess accumulations and that items are on hand in sufficient quantities and at the time required.
3. Reviews requisitions, supporting documents, and reference materiel to recommend/determine required action. Expedites the delivery of urgently required items. Coordinates supply actions with transportation and other supply units or organizations.
4. Assists in maintaining an accurate accounting and reporting system for property. Reviews records and demands data for determination of obsolete or excess property.
5. Assists with the management of calibration, and calibration, and testing of Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). Assists in managing, controlling and monitoring tool room operations, to include accounting for, issuing and replacing tools.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Knowledge of basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Demonstrated knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned. Experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more automated supply databases to enter and retrieve recurring reports. Experience using working knowledge of the structure of a supply organization and the organizations serviced.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
-- Knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned. Familiarity with one more automated supply data- bases to enter, correct, and retrieve recurring reports and to structure and retrieve specialized reports. Knowledge and ability to perform a range of standard clerical assignments and to resolve recurring problems recurring problems.
Education
Combining Education and Experience: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements at grades GS-5 and below, except for Reporting Stenographer, GS-5.
- For GS-3 and GS-4 level positions, determine the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determine the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; then add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level.
- For GS-5 level positions (except Clerk-Stenographer, which does not require specialized experience), only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
