The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Supply Technician for Joint Task Force - North (JTF-N). Responsible for supporting supply operations pertaining to specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts requiring unusual degrees of protection in shipment and storage.
Duties
- Manages and accounts for supplies, property, and equipment assigned to Headquarters, JTF-N.
- Provides supply support for mission units and Base Operations.
- Executes Government Purchase Card (GPC) procurements and tracks funds expenditures ensuring funds are available to support planned procurements.
- Plans and administers periodic inventories of items, investigates inventory shortages, and provides results of findings whenever discrepancies occur.
- Performs administrative office support functions, maintains reference library, and uses multiple automation software applications.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations in performance of temporary duty (TDY).

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions, and an intensive knowledge of local supply requirements to ensure supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for urgent, critical shortage, and other special items. Knowledge of office automation software procedures and function keys to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, to edit and reformat electronic drafts, and to update and revise existing databases or spreadsheets. Knowledge of the nature and capability of different software packages and the integration compatibility among different software types. Knowledge of standard office equipment such as electric/electronic typewriters, copiers, fax machines, and office
automation systems to perform substantial range of office automation support.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in?-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions; and supply functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods. Must be training and certified in Global Combat Support System (GCSS)-Army.
2. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system; correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports; and various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases and graphs.
3. Knowledge of general officer administrative and clerical procedures.
4. Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material, such as supply regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to accomplish tasks and resolve complex supply problems; and to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements..
5. Ability to receive, screen, review and verify supply documents and resolve discrepancies.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
