You will serve as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Repairer in the Marine Force Storage Center of MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS COMMAND.

Duties

You will disassemble and assemble equipment to accomplish repairs, adjustments and modifications in accordance with established procedures. You will use a variety of common test and measuring instruments. You will maintain assigned work areas in a clean, safe and operational condition. You will operate a wide variety of heavy mobile equipment to determine what repair(s), adjustments, and/or modifications are required. You will inspect parts for wear against a set of specifications. You will use a variety of hand tools and power tools.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You must be willing and able obtain and maintain valid Government Driver/Operator License for a large variety of heavy mobile equipment such as bulldozers, cranes, tracked and wheeled vehicles.
  • This position requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. You must be willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.
  • You must be willing and able to frequently lift and/or carry loads/items up to 35 pounds in weight and occasionally up to 100 pounds and and carry them for a short distance.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to Do the Work without More Thank Normal Supervision. Tasks performed include : troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy mobile equipment such as bulldozers, cranes, tractors, trucks, and other comparable vehicles. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
