Duties

The incumbent is supervised by the Administrative Officer and provides services within the administrative divisions of Pea Ridge National Military Park. The position performs critical administration functions such as, but not limited to: completing travel and training arrangements and related documents; document and form preparation, submission, and tracking; processing time and attendance; procurement, processing purchase requests and completing credit card purchases for supplies and materials; providing budget preparation and tracking assistance; maintaining files and records; assisting park supervisors with tasks associated with HR processing and onboarding, serving as the park HR liaison to the Servicing Human Resources Office to facilitate completion of HR office requests; front office management including instructing employees on equipment use, troubleshooting equipment issues, processing mail, receiving deliveries, providing visitor services on phone and in-person; conducting property inventories and processing excess property. Regularly uses standard Department of Interior software applications such as FBMS, Grant Solutions, AFS4, Concur, Quicktime, HR Portal, FPPS, Microsoft Office, and email/messaging/chat/video conferencing programs. Supports park staff with administrative tasks as needed and as directed by the Administrative Officer. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. Physical Demands: The work is mostly sedentary. Working Conditions: The work is generally, performed in an office setting.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-09/05/2023-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of an Administrative Support Assistant (OA), and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience, may include but is not limited to knowledge of maintaining a filing system both electronic and hard copy, the use of computers to develop correspondence, memos, forms and other standardized documents, experience preparing time and attendance, the administrative processes and procedures in travel, and knowledge of commonly used software including word processing. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least four years of education above high school (120 semester hour or 180 quarter hours) leading to a bachelor's degree. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take percentage of education completed. Then take the number of months of full time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts. To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: AI possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level. The specialized experience is experience that equipped a candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of specialized experience include, but is not limited to, the following examples: Specialized experience is experience such as budget and financial management tracking and reporting, travel management, human resources management such as payroll reporting, human resources education and advising staff, operating a variety of computerized information systems, maintaining property inventories and records, records and data management, examples of attention to detail and preparing a variety of forms and reports. In addition, your experience must have involved the performance of various office duties, including typing correspondence, memos, reports, and forms. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: I possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level. The specialized experience is experience that equipped a candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of specialized experience include, but is not limited to, the following examples: Specialized experience is experience such as budget and financial management tracking and reporting, travel management, human resources management such as payroll reporting, human resources education and advising staff, operating a variety of computerized information systems, maintaining property inventories and records, records and data management, examples of attention to detail and preparing a variety of forms and reports. In addition, your experience must have involved the performance of various office duties, including typing correspondence, memos, reports, and forms. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection.
