"The primary purpose of this Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic, WG-2606-10, position is to install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate various types of moderately complex electronically controlled equipment."
Duty Title: Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic (Electrician)
Duties
-Plan, lay out work from electrical/electronic block diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical orders.
-Perform pretest, operational (functional), final test, tuning, alignment and/or calibration of moderately.
-Install, overhaul, repair, fabricate, modify various type of electronical.
-Control system to include disassembly, cleaning, reassemble and calibration.
-Utilize safety, security practices and procedure following rules, regulations, safe, clean, and secure.

- The employee will be required to work in emergency situations.
- The employee will be required to obtain and maintain a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
- This position may require travel.
- Selectee may be required to serve a probationary or trial period.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation And Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation And Maintenance Family.
1.Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair etc.
2. Use of Test Equipment Electronics
3. Theory of Electronics.
4. Ability To Use Hand and Power Tools-Electronics.
5. Trouble shooting (Electronic Equipent)
6. Ingenuity (Ability To Suggest and Apply New Methods).
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work assignments require moderate physical effort. Mechanics frequently lift, carry, or otherwise handle items weighing up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds). Occasionally they handle items greater than 18 kilograms. Assistance is usually available with heavy items. They work in a sitting position for extended periods. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping are required. Occasionally, climbing and working in high places may be required.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed inside in well-lighted, heated, and ventilated areas. When equipment is fixed in place it is sometimes necessary to work in warehouse or industrial areas exposed to loud noises, heat or cold, fumes, etc. Mechanics are subject to injuries such as electric shock, cuts and bruises, as well as burns caused by electrical energy or soldering irons.
