This position is located in NPS Regional Office Serving Interior Regions 6,7 and 8, in the Business & Technology Division.

Duties
Diagnoses and resolves recurring problems in response to customer reported incidents; and reports, responds to, and resolves customer requests.
Updates and maintains problem tracking/ticketing systems to track and identify customer needs, as well as to discuss requirements with the customer to resolve the customer need.
Installs, configures, and tests software on customer workstations; and installs, configures, upgrades, and troubleshoots hardware and software components.
Assists teams responsible for planning and delivering a full range of customer support services to the organization.
Participates in evaluating effectiveness of customer support services and provides feedback on impacts of proposed IT initiatives to services.
Works with system managers, information technology specialists and computer assistants, and with subject matter end users to perform basic assignments in operations or procedures related to computer capabilities and processing techniques.
Provide phone and deskside support to technical and non-technical employees

To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess must meet the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Applicants must be current students pursuing a degree or certificate in a qualifying educational institution with an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher AND maintain at least a half time or full time course load.
AND
Completion of four (4) academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.
This position has a basic educational requirement. Individuals applying for this position must be enrolled in a degree program directly related to the position. In order to be eligible for conversion into the competitive service, the incumbent must meet the degree requirements, as governed by the Office of Personnel Management, for this position.
Applicants must also provide documentation from the educational institution verifying current enrollment with at least a half time or full time course load. This documentation may be a Current Enrollment Verification Certificate or a statement of current enrollment or acceptance letter (which verifies all of the required information).
If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.

Education
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an
accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
You will NOT be considered under Pathways unless you provide supporting information from your school. Documentation may be provided in letter format from your academic advisor, school counselor, admission office, etc. to prove enrollment OR it may be provided in the form of several official documents from your school such as a copy of your official transcripts and a copy of your class schedule for next semester. Copies of documents from your school website are acceptable if they contain all relevant information as listed above. Letters from advisors or other school officials must be on school letterhead.
If you are using
education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
