This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position will be filled on a permanent basis.

Duties

Designs, develops and manages a variety of educational forums and briefings to enhance community capacity and assist serviced population with increasing self-reliance and knowledge of available resources. Designs effective marketing strategy and public relations programs to ensure target population is informed of all relocation opportunities. Serves as Army Community Service (ACS) Multi-Functional Specialist at the installation level with responsibility for assisting Commanders with assessing, tailoring and prioritizing ACS service delivery in support of local military and Family needs. Develops and uses self-assessment, community assessment and various measurement tools to identify trends, organizational needs and Army and unit demographic profiles. Helps clients identify issues and provides guidance to a realistic appraisal and acceptance of capabilities. Provides individual and Family consultation services, education, referrals and follow-up.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as Provides assistance to military families by obtaining information to determine needs (such as client intake, information & referral, crisis intervention, life skills, and transition services); research/maintain individual and Family consultation services, education, referrals and follow-up for accuracy; recommends marketing and public relations strategies to ensure target populations are informed of services and activities pertaining to community services; and provides assistance with career, transition, relocation, personal financial management, employment, community life, emergency/crisis assistance, personal and Family readiness for Military members and Family. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). ** IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE LISTED ABOVE, YOU MUST ALSO MEET THE BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT ESTABLISED BY OPM FOR THIS POSITION. ** Degree: Bachelor's (or higher) degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
