About the Position: Serves as an Equipment, Facilities and Services Assistant (Food Service/Motor Vehicle Operator) with the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY.

Duties

Order, receive, issue and store equipment and supplies. Report on equipment deficiencies; compile budget data for procurement of replacement equipment Inspect and inventory incoming supplies and equipment. Coordinate equipment repairs and installation of new equipment. Operate a military vehicle to transport food service equipment. Complete and maintain standard forms and requisitions specific to dining facility equipment.

Requirements

• Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
• This position requires the incumbent to work variable work hours and days due to operations (seven days a week) of dining facilities, which include sometimes working evenings, week-ends and/or holidays, to include mandatory overtime.
• This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate class of driver's license for military vehicles up to and including 2 ton capacity trucks.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting with ordering, receiving, issuing and/or storing of food service equipment or supplies; 2) Assisting with performing equipment and/or supply inventory for a dining facility; and 3) coordinating installation, replacement or repairs of facilities equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-6).
