This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OFFICER, Position Description Number D2169P01 and is part of the OH 121 Air Refueling Wing, Ohio Air National Guard. The purpose of this position is to serve as the Operations Officer of the Logistics Readiness Squadron/Flight. Functions as the technical advisor as well as the supervisor of logistics readiness operations including but not limited to: readiness.

Duties

As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OFFICER, GS-0346-12, you will perform the following duties: Supervisor: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO and diversity objectives. Develops, modifies, and/or interprets performance standards. Explains performance expectations to employees and provides regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses. Holds employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments. Appraises subordinate workers' performance ensuring consistency and equity in rating techniques. Recommends awards when appropriate and approves within-grade increases. Hears and resolves employee complaints and refers serious unresolved complaints to higher-level management. Initiates action to correct performance or conduct problems. Effects minor disciplinary measures such as warnings and reprimands and recommends action in more serious disciplinary matters. Prepares documentation to support actions taken. Identifies employee developmental needs and provides or arranges for training (formal and on-the-job) to maintain and improve job performance. Encourages self-development. Approves master leave schedule assuring adequate coverage for peak workloads and traditional holiday vacation time. Demonstrates sensitivity to ideas of subordinates. Promotes an environment in which employees are empowered to participate in and contribute to effective mission accomplishment. Discharges security responsibilities by ensuring education and compliance with security directives for employees with access to classified or sensitive material. Recognizes and takes action to correct situations posing a threat to the health or safety of subordinates. Applies EEO principles and requirements to all personnel management actions and decisions, and ensures all personnel are treated in a manner free of discrimination. Periodically reviews position descriptions to ensure accuracy, and the most effective utilization of personnel resources. Explains classification determinations to subordinate employees. Wing Advisor: Provides technical advice and assistance to wing leadership on business processes and performance and efficiency of logistics readiness functions of the squadron /flight as it impacts the Wing. Provides technical oversight for squadron/flight plans, goals and standards for readiness and performance capabilities of the squadron/flight on. Responsible for programs associated with squadron/flight business processes, resource management (facilities, equipment, budget, stock control and infrastructure), squadron/flight analysis, systems management, strategic planning, metrics and training. Establishes metric and analysis systems for subordinate organizations to assess efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with procedures. Provides technical guidance for the development of program goals, plans, policies, and procedures and work plans regarding of wing strategic vision; evaluation of overall logistics process effectiveness; modernizing and transforming current business operations and support systems; and modifying logistics strategic planning. Recommends methods to help the squadron/flight optimize use of resources and maximize efficiency and effectiveness. LRS Training, Resources and Systems: Manages and performs work for providing training, resources, and systems to ensure the efficient and effective operation of installation deployment processes. Develops new approaches related to logistics workforce readiness to better support logistics services, systems and products. Ensures proper identification of AEF taskings, unit assessments of readiness capabilities (e.g. SORTS), limiting factors, common expeditionary skills training, storage and inspection of unit readiness programs. Analyzes base ready program requirements, develops get-well strategies and reports findings to squadron/flight, group and command staffs and agents. Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Supervisory Positions, add the following Specialized Experience: Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
