This position is organizationally located in the Purchased/Referred Care (PRC) Branch of the Rosebud Service Unit. The function of PRC is to provide medical care that is not available at the Service Unit for eligible Indian beneficiaries.

Duties
Responsible for assisting in determining patient eligibility, scope and priority for the Patient Referred Care (PRC) program.
Assure adequate funds are set aside for all authorized referrals, emergency call-ins, and follow up care referrals.
Assures all funds have been obligated by the end of the funding period and that all unused obligations are canceled on a timely basis.
Responsible for keeping up-to-date pending and completed Patient Referred Care (PRC) patient files, with documented status of all written and verbal transactions.
Performs periodic spot reviews and audits of completed authorization forms and other documents to insure consistent correct use of allotment.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-4: One (1) year of General Experience AND/OR two (2) years above high school.
GS-5: One (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level AND/OR four (4) years above high school.
GS-6: One (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level.
GS-7: One (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level.
General Experience
Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
Specialized Experience
Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience, as indicated in the table, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements.
Examples of Specialized Experience
GS-5: Respond to inquiries and requests through telephone, correspondence and personal visits. Knowledge of funds control techniques. Skill in monitoring and accounting for funds allotted.
GS-6: Assure funds have been obligated within deadlines, unused obligations are cancelled and re-obligated. Assist in determining patient eligibility. Maintain obligation registers regarding funds for inpatient and outpatient services.
GS-7: Proficient in applying policies, procedures, rules and regulations when determining patient eligibility, availability of services and identification of fiscal resources. Expert in funds control techniques to account for allotted funds and preparing statements and reports.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
