The supervisor is Stephanie Blaney.
This position is Non Bargaining Unit.
This position IS subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements.
This position IS not subject to security ownership restriction reporting requirements.
Duties
The successful candidate will perform the full range of the Sr. Government Information Officer duties.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:1. Expert knowledge and understanding of the FOIA and Privacy Act (PA), including the legal principals associated with FOIA and PA activities.
2. Demonstrated experience in preventing, reducing, or eliminating FOIA case backlogs.
3. Demonstrated ability to provide training and assistance in developing seminars, and training materials concerning complex FOIA provisions and policy positions.
4. Demonstrated ability to present information, both orally and in writing, and to build and sustain coalitions across organizations. Specific experience directly communicating, tactfully and effectively, information, ideas, and advice with colleagues, other management in headquarters or regions (NRC or equivalent), the Commission (NRC or equivalent), members of the public, representatives of professional groups or other Federal or State agencies.
5. Demonstrated experience in working with FOIAXpress.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as: The ability to interpret and apply, applicable NRC rules, policies, practices and procedures, ability to identify major issues, and demonstrated ability to possess a high degree of professionalism in applying discretion and judgment when dealing with sensitive issues. Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills, sufficient to prepare and present technical material, policy, regulations, guidance, briefing materials, and reports to management in support of the FOIA program and in order to brief and guide staff and high-level management. Prior experience as a FOIA Officer desired.
