This Program Support Assistant, PSA position is assigned to the Home Telehealth (HT) unit under the Patient Care Service-Primary Care. The position reports directly to the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) of HT, who reports to the Chief Patient Care Services Primary Care (PCSPC) at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), Tucson, Arizona.
Duties
Duties included but not limited to the below:
For HT consults, the PSA will schedule HT admission assessment calls based on Care Coordinator (CC) open schedule slots; view alert CC from consult of appointment and place scheduled admission appointment on a share point calendar.
The incumbent delivers value-added health care support to the strategic plan of the organization and achieves clinical, financial and service quality objectives
Provides education and training to staff
Applies quantitative and qualitative analytical skill and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration and resolution of issues or problems in order to improve the effectiveness of business processes
Automated Data Processing Application Coordinator (ADPAC) duties, to include: quality assurance initiatives, compliance reviews, data metrics, the development of analytical documents
creating and producing reports in narrative, graphic and tabular form that affect or influence multiple levels of organizational activities
Incumbent will also provide input into the design of systems to support team functioning, care/work coordination, data analysis, and continuity of services; and backup support to program in time of staff shortages

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/07/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: preparing, executing recurring reports in a healthcare setting; managing databases which contain a wide variety of veteran specific information; initiating the use of technology for each enrolled patient, and managing the correspondence related to the HT Program.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office.
