About the position: This position will be assigned to the RESOURCE MANAGEMENT.

Duties

Administers, analyzes and refines the Force Support Squadron (FSS) local area network (LAN) and FSS wide area network (WAN ) systems-referred to as the FSS.NET. Coordinates LA installation, implementation, maintenance. troubleshooting; reviews. evaluates. and fine tunes components to include hubs, switches. and routers to achieve peak efficiency within the network. Installs, configures, and troubleshoots network and application server hardware, network operating system software. and peripheral network activities, and system designs of the FSS activities to comply with legal and regulatory requirements while meeting customer needs. Coordinates, installs, and maintains applications software and hardware and software systems and ensures availability. integrity, efficiency and reliability of services. Responds to trouble reports by analyzing problems, providing solutions and initiates corrective or preventative measures. Troubleshoots and diagnoses system failures to isolate source of problems. Performs testing. troubleshoots, and corrects problems relative to interface and interoperability of system components such as hardware, systems software. and applications programs. Coordinates with base communications agencies in planning and developing new or additional network infrastructure capabilities. Keeps abreast of changes in technology to assist management in preparing for future enhancements. Provides input for future needs and prepares recommendations, justifications, and specifications for equipment and applications. Functions as an FSS Client Support Administrator or Functional System Administrator (CSA or FSA) for mission critical and unit specific software application and hardware that operate on the network. Provides on-going technical support and assistance to users in the effective use of a wide range of applications, resolving end-user hardware, peripheral, and or software issues. May operate one or more motor vehicles to include light trucks, sedans and vans weighing up to I 0.000 pounds on installation. Qualifying Experience: Knowledge of the fundamental capabilities and functions of IT network architecture. topology and protocols used in installing and administering network services. Skill in applying network development sufficient to support network hardware and software in order to test, install, upgrade, configure, diagnose, and maintain proper functionality. Work requires some physical exe11ion, lifting and moving of moderately heavy equipment such as switches, routers, and CPUs. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Subject to satisfactory completion of a National Agency Check and pre-employment physical. Information Assurance certification is a condition of employment. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have ability to operate vehicle in a safe manner. This is a drug testing designated position. Incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
