This position is Term: Not to Exceed 30 months but may be terminated or extended at agency discretion. This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as the principal civilian advisor to the Chairman's Exercise Program Division (CEPD) Chief and other J7 leadership on all aspects of Interorganizational partnership in and with Global Integration Exercises (GIE) and other DoD exercise and training events. .

Duties

As a GLOBAL INTEGRATION EXERCISE PARTNERSHIP COORDINATOR at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Crisis Management Exercise (CMX) Coordinator and Head of United States Delegation for Planning for NATO CMX, in accordance with all pertinent Presidential Policy Directives. Serves as the principal civilian advisor to the Chairman's Exercise Program Division (CEPD) Chief and other J7 leadership on all aspects of NATO Crisis Management Exercise (CMX) planning and execution. Serve as the lead planner and proponent for the DoD Interagency Working Group to govern the processes and responsibilities of identifying, coordinating, facilitating, and tracking DoD requests for IA, NGO, IC, and IO participation in DoD exercise, education, and training events. Leads or participates in major studies of comprehensive and complex issues involving IA, NGO, IC, and IO participation and support to GIE and other DoD exercises, education, and training.

  • Employee must obtain/maintain a Special Sensitive (Top Secret/SCI) security clearance
  • Drug Testing Designated Position: Yes
  • This position requires some CONUS and OCONUS travel.
  • This position requires extended/non-standard hours as necessary in support of exercise, education, and training.
  • This position is Term: Not to Exceed 30 months -however, may be extended or terminated at the discretion of the agency.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-14 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Supporting North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Crisis Management Exercises (CMX); Coordinating exercises, education, and training events with Interagency (IA), Non-Government Organization (NGO), Intelligence Community (IC), or International Organizations (IO); Advising on policies and procedures applicable to exercise processes pertaining to Presidential Policy Directives, National Security Strategy, and National Defense Strategy. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
