About the Position: This position is located at Fort Bliss, TX.
Serve as an Education Technician in the Directorate of Education which manages the education programs for Noncommissioned Officer Center of Excellence and the United States Sergeants Major Academy.
Duties
Provide advisory services to staff, faculty, and students in obtaining educational achievement towards accredited undergraduate degrees.
Coordinate administrative support such as completing college transcript audits, keeping records of all college classes and curriculum prerequisites, assisting in determining graduation eligibility, and planning commencement activities.
Conduct all admissions activities ensuring adherence to the accreditation policies and regulations.
Maintain education program academic records, student plans, and implements registration process for degree classes.
Provide assistance in planning, program management, and project management functions in support of department's educational mission.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience for GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes experience preparing correspondence for courses; compiling student data for courses taught: and providing guidance on student records management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: One half year (9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience for GS-07: One year of specialized experience includes experience reviewing correspondence for courses; overseeing an organizations academics records for courses taught; and providing guidance on student records management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education.
