You will serve as a Management Advisor in the Office of the Medical Inspector General (MEDINSGEN) of BUREAU OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY.
Duties
You will be responsible for operating the BUMED Hotline in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) hotline Program to identify and combat fraud, waste, abuse and related improprieties.
You will identify deficiencies and communicate orally, or in writing, re-tasking, or other remedial actions, to investigating commands..
You will maintain and monitors the automated Hotline database to enter initial case information and then track, update and report the progress and add pertinent data to hotline investigations.
You will develop review findings and recommended improvements to program operations.
You will meet with management to review draft report of findings and to discuss recommendations covering areas to include but not limited to strengthening of program controls, further investigation of fraudulent practices, changing work process.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience independently planning, conducting and completing complex administrative investigations;
Experience investigating techniques to plan and conduct independently and to work as a group leader or member of an investigation or inspection team;
Experience investigating evaluate the accuracy, thoroughness, objectivity, and completeness of an investigation.
Experience inspecting and analyzing concepts, practices, methods and techniques to independently plan and conduct.
Experience inspecting and reviewing for compliance and reporting phases.
Experience working within the guidelines Privacy Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act {HIPAA) and Freedom of Information Act{FOIA).
Experience utilizing principles, techniques and methods involved in the management and operation of military healthcare facilities.
Experience preparing a variety of written correspondences related to managing Hotline cases, such as tasking letters, letters to complainants, interim and final responses to higher authority, and associated correspondence with other agencies.
Experience using Federal law and investigative principles and techniques.
Experience working within of the organization's, operations, programs, policies and instructions such as the Department of Navy and Department of Defense to properly evaluate the merits of a Hotline complaint for tasking.
