This position is assigned to the sorting or finish area of the consolidated Medical Center Laundry at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center (MGAMC) located in Spokane, Washington.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to: Receives, stores, inventories and distributes linen to the using units of this facility on a daily basis. Controls and supplies all surgical linen Issuing, marking, repairing and salvaging surgical linen, drapes, pillows, employee uniforms, cubical and shower curtains. Sorting uniforms apparel, documenting by assigned number the uniforms forwarded to the consolidated laundry facility for laundering, and places on Auto Valet according to assigned number when returned from the consolidated laundry. Removing and hanging cubicle curtains and window curtain, this requires the ability to move safely on a ladder. Adjusting deliveries to meet the changing needs of the using units, weighing and maintaining daily records in pounds the linen requirements for each using unit for cost accounting purposes. Utilizing proper technique in distributing and picking up linen to prevent cross contamination. Providing required sanitation of linen carts and work areas, working with authorized disinfectants for sanitation purposes.
