The incumbent serves as a Program Support Assistant (PSA) in Patient Care Services. The incumbent actively participates in the management of a variety of technical and administrative functions.

Duties

Duties include, but not limited to: Coordinating communications for staff, patients and families. Problem solves customer concerns and refers to program official as appropriate. Provide necessary back up coverage for other Program Support Assistants in PCS as needed. Prepare various reporting documents. Use computer applications proficiently and manages hardware and software systems. Preform clerical duties to include time keeping, faxing, filing, typing, using computer applications, preparing clinical and administrative records/charts, assuring accurate and prompt communications, coordinating meetings, completing work orders, copying, etc. Work Schedule: Administrative Day Tour Location: Bowling Campus Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as experience operating a variety of technical equipment, i.e., PC in a Windows environment, calculator, copier, fax and other related computer applications; prepare correspondence and reports ensuring correct grammar, spelling punctuation and in correct format; accurate record keeping and maintain a calendar of required reports and ensure proper completion. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Administration and ManagementClericalCommunicationComputer SkillsData Management Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work requires walking, bending, standing, and setting particularly related to computer work. Carry office supplies, records, etc. and transport other similar items is required.
