This position is being announced under FEMA's Incident Management Assistant Team (IMAT) Program. This is a 4-year temporary appointment in the Excepted service. This position is located on a Type II, Regional/National IMAT and has a starting salary range of $51.81 per hour to $69.95 per hour; however, the maximum salary possible in this position is $79.57 per hour.  Salary listed includes locality pay. Duties

In this position, you will serve as an Emergency Management Specialist (Planning Section Chief Type II) for Region III's IMAT team serving as an advisor to leadership of the Response Division. Typical assignments include:

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the IT-04 level (starting salary $51.81 per hour), your resume must clearly demonstrate at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IT-03) in the Federal Service.  This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of the following specialized experience:  Preparing and managing aspects of the Incident Action Plan (IAP) and its components; including developing incident objectives and identifying operational resources; Collaborating with State, Local, Federal, Tribal, and nongovernmental partners to establish, organize, and manage unified planning efforts; and Receiving, analyzing, and disseminating incident information that supports decision makers and enables appropriate and effective action during disasters.
