This position is located the Purchasing and Contracting (P&C), Department of Base Seattle, Seattle Washington.

Duties

The incumbent will serve as a Purchasing Agent, responsible for supporting Base Seattle and all Areas of Responsibility (AOR) field units and adhering to Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) for the acquisition of supplies and services and construction.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Qualifications

GS-6 level: At least one full year of experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal sector. Examples of specialized experience include: knowledge of technical purchasing methods and procedures to perform complex purchasing work; knowledge of common business practices to determine cost/price analysis, scheduling of timely deliveries/ performance for procurements with special contingencies, negotiating skills, shipment methods for complex items, or methods utilized for technical/professional services; knowledge of procurement concepts, principles and practices; the Federal procurement statues and regulations consisting of the Federal Acquisitions Regulations(FAR); knowledge of micro purchase, simplified acquisitions procedures and familiarity with practices of business and industry sufficient to purchase supplies and services;Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
