Duties vary based on the department and/or office in which the intern is placed. DFC's Internship Program offers valuable experience that contributes to educational and professional growth, and may be applied in any future employment endeavor, including federal, state and local governments or in the private sector.

Duties

The Office of Development Policy's (ODP) Impact Management, Monitoring, and Leaning (IMML) division monitors, analyzes and manages development impact data from of all its investments to ensure projects are on track to meet their development outcomes as set during origination. The division plays a critical role in identifying lessons learned on that can be used to inform and strengthen the impact performance of existing and new projects. As an Impact Management, Monitoring, and Leaning Intern with ODP, you will: support impact monitoring and management efforts by reviewing developmental impact data for completeness and accuracy, conducting research and preliminary analysis on development impact, developing materials that help communicate DFC's developmental impact, reviewing existing tools, frameworks and processes based on lessons learned, and assisting the IMML team with other tasks as they emerge.

Requirements

  • Must be suitable for Federal employment, determined by background investigation
  • Selective Service registration required for male applicants, unless exempt
  • Must be actively enrolled (at least part-time) in an accredited college or university
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Interns must be based in the United States during the duration of their internship.

Qualifications

Applicants must be United States citizens actively enrolled in a relevant graduate degree program in an accredited college or university on at least part-time basis. Specific programs include: Business Administration, Government ,International Affairs, International Business, International Development, International Studies, International Economics,. Actively enrolled means that you have not had a break of more than 5months since your last course. Previous work, internship or academic experience, particularly in Business or International Business, is required.

All materials must be submitted by the closing date of the announcement.

PASS/FAIL COURSES:
If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
