This position is located within the Indian Health Service, Wind River Service Unit, Fort Washakie, WY. The purpose of this position is to function as a full administrative-support assistant to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19.

Duties

Provide support staff services: compile reports, arrange meetings and gather information, receive visitors and respond to inquiries for Chief Executive Officer and others; Coordinate travel and training arrangements for facility staff to include but not limited to reservations, vouchers, payments, etc. Responsible to coordinate personnel activities for the CEO within facility to include but not limited to recruits and actions on employees and/or enter request into an automated personnel system. Coordinate background investigation procedures for new hire, contractor and/or volunteer to include fingerprints and access to the automated system for background investigation questionnaire. Serve as the CEO's point of contact to managers and identifies and analyzes training requests, performance issues, and a variety of other support work and determines the appropriate methods and techniques to resolve them. Coordinate employee orientation with the other Administrative Support Assistants.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-05: Four (4) years of education above high school OR your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Create a variety of correspondence in proper formats using word processing programs; maintain manual and electronic calendars to add, delete or change meetings; serve as a receptionist or point-of-contact for an office; maintain electronic and hard copy files; input received data into an automated systems that include but not limited to personnel, timekeeping, travel, etc.. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Research and gather information to support reports being compiled by others; greet visitors and callers to obtain information on purpose of visit or call and refer to appropriate staff; deal with complaints or irate visitors/callers in a calm professional manner; coordinate arrangement for meetings, travel and/or training, process claims for payment on travel and/or training into automated travel and financial system; receive personnel type actions to determine process of submitting hard copy information or enter into an automated system; schedule appointment to administer manual or electronic fingerprints and establish access to automated background investigation system. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Receive requests from others on but not limited to personnel requests, travel and/or training requests, and determine the appropriate procedures to complete; provide guidance to managers on personnel requests; troubleshoot problem encountered by managers or employees on automated systems related to but not limited to personnel, pay, benefits, timekeeping, travel, training, background investigation, etc.; serve as first point of contact for all incoming calls or visitors to address need; draft into final form response to correspondence or report request. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable. Specialized Experience Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
