About the Position: Incumbent serves as a Social Service Representative (SSR) at a Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU) in the Army Recovery Care Program (ARCP). Implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates options and services to meet the complex Behavioral Health (BH) care needs of the Soldier in conjunction with the SRU Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Incumbent is a member of a highly specialized interdisciplinary team working with Wounded and Injured Service members and their families.

Duties

Implements and coordinates services to meet the complex Behavioral Health (BH) care needs of the ill or injured soldiers. Schedule meetings between soldiers and specialized interdisciplinary teams (scrimmages) to ensure soldier is following the comprehensive recovery plan created based on individual needs. Facilitate psycho-educational and/or support groups for soldiers and their families as needed or directed by staff.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
