This position is located in the Indian Health Service, Billings Area Fort Peck Service Unit in Poplar and Wolf Point, MT. The incumbent protects the life and property of all persons in the Fort Peck Service Unit which includes the Chief Redstone Indian Health Center in Wolf Point and the Verne E Gibbs Health Center in Poplar, Montana and reports to the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor.
Duties
1. Patrol buildings and grounds to prevent property, patients, employees and visitors for the threat of danger of accidental injuries, fire, theft, or intrusion.
2. Apprehend and take appropriate actions for the detention, removal or dispersion of individuals involved in infractions.
3. Upon request escort personnel, patients or visitors to and from parking areas, restricting disturbing of rambunctious patients in necessary inpatient area and/or emergency area as necessary.
4. Monitor GSA vehicles and traffic flow.
5. Maintain computer log of daily incident reporting.
Qualifications

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The following shows the amounts of education and/or experience required to qualify for positions covered by this standard.
GS-4: 6 months of general experience and 6 months of specialized experience OR 2 years of education above high school.
To qualify based on experience your resume must demonstrate at least six (6) months of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 and above): Experience such as work with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. Such experience must have provided a knowledge of protective systems and techniques. Acceptable experience includes service in the Armed Services or Coast Guard that involved the performance of guard duties on a regular or intermittent basis. For Security Guard positions in a hospital setting, experience as a psychiatric nursing assistant or a similar position safeguarding patients is qualifying.
General Experience (for positions at GS-4 and below): Experience such as administrative, technical, clerical, military, or other work that involved following written procedures, rules, or regulations in contacts with coworkers, supervisors, or members of the public to provide a service, respond to inquiries, or obtain information.
