To be eligible for the Pathways Intern Program, individuals must have been accepted for (Fall 2023) enrollment or be enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) In a qualifying educational institution on a full or half time basis.
Duties
As a participant in the Pathways Intern Program, you will receive both formal and on-the-job training to develop the required knowledge and skill to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Serves as trainee in the Accounting Field to maintains and reconciles accounts and accounting records for a small number of control accounts.
Receives, reviews, and verifies accuracy and completeness of accounting transactions including disbursements and collections.
Enters data into accounting systems. Compares transactions entered to those intended. Corrects invalid/incorrect entries. Prepares trial balances to check the status and accuracy of accounts.
Verifies, balances, and reconciles detailed supporting documentation with listings, automated reports, and/or reports. Identifies discrepancies among accounts and makes necessary adjustments.
Duties will be developmental in nature.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must be enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) at a qualifying educational institution on a full or half time basis.
- Educational enrollment MUST be on a half-time or full-time basis. Half-time basis is defined by the academic institution that the student is enrolled or accepted into.
- Official/Unofficial transcripts with the current enrollment course load.
Qualifications
Pathways Interns qualify based on their educational achievements.
For the GS-02 grade level: Completion of a High school diploma or equivalent.
For the GS-03 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of post high school study.
For the GS-04 grade level: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree.
All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
