About the Position: Incumbent will work at the Directorate of Emergency Services, Operations and Maintenance Division, Building and Ground Branch located at the Yakima Training Center in Yakima, WA.

Duties

Order supplies and services through government supply channels, regular procurement channels, or credit card procedures. Reviews requests for supplies and services for justification, compliance with regulations, and adequacy of funding. Discuss problems with obtaining or maintaining items with requester and recommends alternative actions. Prepares purchase requests for goods and services, coordinating with appropriate activities. Submit requisitions through supply channels and monitors status. Ensure receipt of correct type, quantity, and quality of items. Investigates discrepancies and takes corrective action. Prepare receiving reports or reports of item discrepancy. Inform requester of action taken or required, such as return of erroneously shipped items. Prepare and updates unit or directorate standard operating procedures (SOPs) on supply procedures.

  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain?a license to operate forklift trucks capable of lifting loads weighing 10,000 pounds or less within six months after employment.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
