You will serve as a VISUAL INFORMATION SPECIALIST in the NAVAL AVIATION WARFIGHTING DEVELOPMENT CENTER of NAVAVNWARDEVCEN.
Duties
You will use specialized computers and software programs to create and design visual artwork and printed material.
You will transform descriptions of items, processes, issues, or events into visual representation without benefit of existing pictures, models or diagrams.
You will advise on technical advantages and disadvantages of various formats, styles, media, and methods of production, suggesting those that will best meet the information objectives of each project.
You will utilize professional-level computer software and hardware in the design of videos, narration, 2D and 3D animations, electronic presentations, interactive media, and computer-based training.
You will develop original designs, concepts, or visual styles for publications, exhibits, or presentation materials that portray the idea or message desired by the organization or evoke certain responses from viewers.
You will bring projects to completion through the use of digital cameras, digital video cameras, computer operating systems, multi-media equipment, large-format printers, scanners, computerized mat cutter, vinyl/engraving equipment, and laminators.
You will troubleshoot and maintain website operational problems such as broken links or file directory and application problems.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing specialized computers and software to design and produce a variety of graphic, printed, and web-based material to convey the intended message or achieve the desired effect upon a specific audience. Experience must be in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position being filled. This includes planning the preparation and use of photographs, illustrations, drawings, and other art work, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree that included a major study in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position being filled.
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree that included a major study in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position being filled.
OR
Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
