The position of Maintenance Work Leader is located in the Maintenance & Repair Section of Engineering Service at East Bay Division of NCHCS. The incumbent serves as the Work Leader for the Plumbing-Electrical-Carpenter-HVAC & Paint Shop exercising task oversight and control over work operations involving eight to twelve workers. The incumbent will be stationed at the Martinez Campus within NCHCS.
Duties
Major Duties include but are not limited to:
Responsible for all Plumbing-Electrical-HVAC-Carpentry/Painting work that is accomplished by contractor's labor force, manufacturer's representatives, and specialists called in to perform work that cannot be accomplished by our own work force under the direction of the M&R Supervisor.
The M&R Supervisor reviews and oversees the work of contractors and other trade specialists to ensure compliance with the terms of the contract.
Work Leader actively works with and oversees the plumbers, carpenters, painters, and maintenance mechanics within the health care system.
Consults with and advises Service Chiefs regarding installation, operation, maintenance, or repair of systems and equipment.
Work Schedule: Full Time M-F 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Physical Requirement: Required to walk, stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, crawl and work in uncomfortable positions and to pull, push, reach over the shoulder and lift supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. Must have rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously, good hearing, depth perception and the ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors.
Working Condition: Work is both outside and inside in areas of medium to excessive heat, cold, humidity, dampness or chilling areas that have intermittent noise, dust, fumes, grease, dirt, oils, with exposure to electrical wires and energy. Areas may be slippery and/or uneven surfaces, in equipment rooms, tunnels, crawls spaces, confined spaces, penthouses, overhead catwalks, and scaffolding and/or in tight areas such as manholes and electrical equipment closets.
