You will serve as an Operations Research Analyst in the Warfare Effectiveness Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Duties
You will serve as the Maritime Analysis Lead with responsibility to oversee mission effectiveness analysis efforts across a wide range of naval aviation systems and customers.
You will direct complex modeling and mathematical analysis to quantify warfighter gaps in the context of naval operations and assess impacts of systems capabilities.
You will conduct cost-analysis for aviation systems in order to meet program objectives.
You will collaborate with program stakeholders to define cost and additional resource requirements.
You will lead a task team to analyze results of mathematical models and simulations to identify requirements, support methodologies, determine results or summarize findings.
You will serve as a senior technical expert and consultant to department analysts, NAVAIR engineering subject matter experts, and Navy headquarters managers for maritime mission analysis.
You will build and maintain positive work relationships and interface with customers.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12/13) or pay band (DP-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Operations Research Analyst. Examples of Qualifying Specialized Experience include: (1) Utilizing in-depth working knowledge of air weapon systems/ship systems, modeling and simulation, and mathematical analysis techniques for investigating, evaluating, and projecting the cost and/or economic impact of the acquisition and operation of new and/or improved weapon systems or components; (2) Performing cost analyses using data, both performance and cost, acquired and developed from government and contractor sources, to establish the estimated cost or budgetary requirements of air weapon systems under a variety of acquisition or programmatic strategies; (3) Utilizing quantitative and qualitative measures of system life-cycle cost, performance, cost effectiveness, affordability, etc., to air weapons system program objectives; and (4) Providing technical support and coordinating work assignments for engineering or non-technical personnel based on assigned program initiatives and agency needs.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
-Applicants must have a bachelor's or higher degree in operations research.
OR
-Applicants must have successfully completed a bachelor's or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics and at least 3 of the 24 semester hours are in calculus.
