Candidates should have an advanced understanding of the cradle-to-grave life cycle logistics support required to acquire and support nuclear systems or subsystems, demonstrated experience in working effectively with multiple levels within DoD from installation to Major Command (MAJCOM), and able to communicate effectively, and be comfortable in a dynamic work environment.
DUTIES:
Serve as the senior expert logistician in AFNWC/NDW providing LCL guidance to the System Program Manager and other members of the senior Division staff and must remain knowledgeable of all logistics related activities within the Division to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and achievement of organizational goals.
As a member of Division leadership, collaborate with Branch Chiefs and their organic and contractor logistics personnel overseeing and integrating Division logistics activities related to the acquisition and sustainment of nuclear weapon storage, security, maintenance, and surety capabilities in the EUCOM Area Of Responsibility (AOR).
Plan, manage, coordinate, evaluate, integrate, synchronize, track and brief Division program and project status from a logistics perspective to AFNWC leadership, HQ Air Force, HQ USAFE, EUCOM and AFGSC as necessary to ensure collaboration with key stakeholders.
Develop and coordinate comprehensive Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) plans, Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP), roadmaps and milestones concerning logistics related to acquisition programs and Division sustainment processes.
Interact with internal and external stakeholders (to include members of NATO partner militaries) in a diplomatic, convincing, and professional manner to promote effective teaming relationships necessary for mission accomplishment.
Ensure participation and outcomes of special projects result in positive impact(s) on the organization and/or improves quality of products and/or services provided by AFNWC/NDW.
Prepare reports on time that are neat and of high quality for Air Force senior leaders and include recommendations, meaningful program information, written summaries and results from synthesized data and/or metric analyses.
Official travel to various US and NATO locations within the EUCOM AOR, as required.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Expert knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning acquisition management processes and related LCL initiatives.
- Broad depth and breadth of experience, including serving on programs in different phases of the Life Cycle, logistics experience in operational major commands, and Depot operations experience desired.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.

- Knowledge of Air Force maintenance and sustainment policies, regulations, practices, and procedures desired.
- Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DOD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition and sustainment processes.
- A professional degree at the bachelor?s level from an accredited institution is desired.
- Position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
- Ability to lead, mentor, motivate, and work well with government and contractor employees.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate orally and in writing with technical competency.

Skills to lead, plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff in critical aspects of development and production, support of systems, subsystems, or equipment and to coordinate various aspects of logistics as they related to and interact with other acquisition and sustainment activities within engineering, contracting, financial management, configuration, test, and manufacturing.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Expert knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition logistics and sustainment processes and related LCL initiatives.
2. Ability to plan, organize, direct, mentor, motivate, mentor, and appraise a diverse government and contractor team to meet program(s) and organizational objectives.
3. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DOD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process.
4. Skill to plan, organize, and lead a team of logistics professionals in executing critical aspects of all phases of the system life cycle to include development and production, fielding, sustainment, and demilitarization.
5. Knowledge in product support management, sustaining engineering, maintenance planning, supply support, technical data, support equipment, and packaging, handling, storage, and transportation.
