One (1) permanent Nursing Assistant positions to be filled at the Whiteriver Service Unit (WRSU) in Whiteriver, Arizona. The Incumbent will assist Registered Nurses with delivery of care to acutely ill and emergently ill patients. The Incumbent will be supervised by the Supervisory Nurse (Family Care Unit).

Duties

Keep RN informed on any change in patient status. Ensure patient safety (monitoring). Taking blood glucose checks, vital signs and monitoring intake/output. Assist with ambulation/bathroom privilege's and transportation of patient to other areas of hospital. Reinforce patient and family teaching by Physicians and Nurses. Assists with maintaining adequate unit supplies, and with activities to support the general upkeep and cleaning of unit equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: For GS-04 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least six (6) months of general experience and six (6) month of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-03 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples Include: 1)Performs a variety of personal nursing care and diagnostic support duties, and learns to perform simple treatment, charting and patient teaching tasks. 2)Providing basic personal nursing care which includes activities of daily living (feeding, bathing, lifting, personal hygiene). 3)Support duties for diagnostic and technical treatment procedures, such as setting up special medical equipment and instruments. 4)Provides a variety of supporting diagnostic duties which include taking, recording, and reporting deviations in vital signs or changes in patient conditions, taking and labeling specimens. 5)Assists in the assembling of supplies and instruments for treatments and special procedures, including passing instruments, and maintaining sterile conditions. Assisting Registered Nurses with gathering assessment data such as measurement, vital signs, and point of care testing. OR Successfully completed a 2-year degree program in an accredited community college, junior college, or college or university in practical nursing or in a field of study appropriate to the specialization of the position, such as education in a program for a psychology, psychiatric, or operating room technician. (Must submit transcripts). OR Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). Required as applicable for the purposes of specific eligibility and appointment claim(s), and position requirements: Indian Preference Applicants: If claiming Indian preference, applicants must provide a completed copy of the Form BIA-4432, "Verification of Indian Preference for Employment in the BIA and IHS Only." Indian preference will not be given unless a properly signed and dated form is submitted with your application, NOTE: A Copy of your most recent NON-AWARD SF-50 must indicate proof of status and should identify your position title, series, grade, step, salary, tenure and type of service(Competitive or Excepted). To verify you meet Time-in-Grade requirements, also submit a SF-50 reflecting when you entered your highest grade held. (e.g. Promotion, Appointment, etc.) The grade may have been held in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal Service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Please do not submit a general adjustment SF-50, as this does not confirm time in grade. ***NOTE: Evidence of Specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held on your resume.
