This position is located in U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Departmental Administration (DA), Office of Operations (OO), the Materiel Management Service Center (MMSC).
The primary purpose of the position is to perform forms and publications acquisition, inventory control and accountability, and carrier selection, oversee the inventory system and perform nationwide liaison with all users of the warehousing and distribution facilities.
Duties
Overseeing the inventory system and performing nationwide liaison with all users of the warehousing and distribution facilities.
Performing mandatory performance surveillance, technical inspection, and reporting in accordance with performance standards for the organization?s distribution facility.
Conducting periodic and comprehensive management studies and evaluations of the Depot to analyze and measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of ongoing shipping Depot functions, and operations.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions and specialized experience, as defined below.
Time in grade:
Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
Specialized Experience:
GS-12: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service or equivalent responsibility in the private sector/pay systems that has equipped the candidate with the particular competencies to successfully perform as an Inventory Management Specialist. For this position, the specialized experience is: (1) Planning and coordinating inventory and supply management activities to ensure adequate stock, acquisition, storage, distribution and shipping of supplies, forms and products; (2) Evaluating and assessing warehouse and inventory systems for program reporting and improvement of program services and processes; (3) Serving as an agency liaison providing technical advice, recommendations, on program policies and procedures to manage inventory systems and supply activities.
