This position is located within the Health Administration Service for the Montana VA Health Care System and is responsible for coordinating and supporting mechanisms for successful data capture and maximizing data management efforts for encounter management functions and medical record review oversight.

Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to: Establishes study methods and techniques to be used in studies and audits; interprets findings resulting from studies that are independently developed. Develops recommendations for program officials and supervisors and strives to have viable recommendations accepted by operating components. Analyzes and evaluates, on a quantitative and/or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of programs or operations in meeting established goals and measures. Recommends solutions for program officials and supervisors, to include modified work methods, procedural changes systems variations, and acceptance of new technology developments. Develops statistical tables and reports, new or modified work methods, management processes and procedures for administering program services. Reviews, monitors, analyzes, and evaluates financial, narrative, and statistical reports and program data submitted at the local, state, regional and federal levels. Participates in discussions, meetings, conferences and conference calls with agency administrative, subject matter experts and technical personnel and other federal agency officials. Tracks, trends and applies analytical methods and techniques to evaluate issues concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operation. Coordinates ongoing data collection and performs analysis to determine optimal organizational performance. Provides relevant administrative data to identify, quantify and resolve organizational problems in collaboration with clinical services. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/29/2023. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-9. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
