***Please ensure you review the "How You Will Be Evaluated" section.*** You will serve as a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIP REPAIRER in the Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic DET New Orleans Aviation Life Support Systems Division of FRC MA SITE NOLA.

Duties

You will ensure all supported squadron's flight equipment meets strict airworthiness criteria and that it will sustain combat operations/readiness. You will inspect, test, certify, diagnose evaluate, troubleshoot, repair/replace/modify, assemble and disassemble all Aircrew Flight Equipment, aircrew chemical/biological defense equipment, and aircraft oxygen system equipment. You will conducting quality control inspections to diagnose the nature and extent of equipment malfunction and to determine whether equipment may be economically repaired or declared unserviceable. You will perform required inspections and repair on parachutes, survival equipment, flotation equipment, fabric leather, and rubber and aircrew personal flying equipment as prescribed in appropriate technical publications. You will utilize, maintain, and update multiple computer main frame programs/data bases to analyze, troubleshoot, schedule, and maintain inspection and accountability reports/documentation. You will operate, repair and maintain sewing machines, punch presses and other related equipment. Inspects, cleans and tests safety belts and restraint harnesses. You will monitor and conduct inventories of all Aircrew Flight Equipment munitions/ammunition assets, forecasts time change requirements, and removes and install all munitions.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • must be able to obtain and maintain Quality Assurance Representative or Collateral Duty Inspector (CDQAR/CDI) qualification in accordance with COMNAVAIRFOR 4790 series instruction and local command procedures.
  • This position is requires to pass and maintain ordnance handling medical certification.
  • This position requires to have completed Navy PR "A" School or Air Force or Army MOS course.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO WORK WITHOUT SUPERVISION AS: Experience ensuring supported flight equipment meets strict airworthiness criteria, will sustain combat operations/readiness by inspecting, testing, certifying, diagnostic evaluating, troubleshooting, repairing/replacing/modifying, assembling and disassembling all Aircrew Flight Equipment, aircrew chemical/biological defense equipment, and aircraft oxygen system equipment. Experience conducting quality control inspections to diagnose the nature and extent of equipment malfunction and to determine whether equipment may be economically repaired or declared unserviceable. Experience performing required inspections and repair on parachutes, survival equipment, flotation equipment, fabric leather, and rubber and aircrew personal flying equipment as prescribed in appropriate technical publications. Experience operating, repairing and maintaining sewing machines. Experience utilizing, maintaining, and updating multiple computer main frame programs/data bases to analyze, troubleshoot, schedule, and maintain inspection and accountability reports/documentation on all aircrew/aircraft life support, oxygen and aircrew chemical-biological defense equipment presses and other related equipment.
