Serve as an Electrical Engineer you will assists PBS by serving as a technical advisor, and by providing technical consulting and quality control plan reviews for all renovation, operation, maintenance, and construction projects involving building electrical and electronic systems, equipment, and components, related to industrial type electrical switchgear. boilers. chillers and co-gen systems.
We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
Evaluate systems and equipment such as new lighting, building power wiring systems or modifications to existing circuitry, communications, power generating and distribution, and intrusion detection systems, ensuring compliance with standards and codes. Ensure project scopes incorporate state of the art/industry trends for green buildings, energy innovations and sustainability initiatives.
Conduct training on new programs and/or process changes. Assist in the development, distribution, and interpretation of program and/or initiative procedural guides. Prepare and administer Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract(s) for consulting engineering services, quality control and to provide initial guidance and continued coordination.
Perform technical studies on electrical engineering systems and equipment, involving lifecycle, cost and/or condition analyses and similar architectural/engineering assessments., integrating and quantifying requirements into scopes of work.
Assess design development, and complete construction documents for agency officials, client agencies, and contract Architect-Engineering (A/E) firms in order to resolve complex design problems.
Perform Contractor Officer’s Representative (COR) duties, Manage project budgets and utilizing Equal Access to Software and Information (EASI) software to develops Statement of Work (SOW), Independent Government Estimates (IGE) and bid evaluations.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ENGINEERS: A Degree in professional engineering OR a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the Basic Requirements listed above, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is Specialized experience is applying professional electrical engineering principles, concepts, and practices in the design of construction or alteration projects involving large and complex buildings or major building systems; and the coordination of the activities of architects, engineers, tenants, and construction contractors on such projects. Such experience must also include having independently managed projects (balance scope/quality, schedule, and budget) requiring the services of multiple disciplines from project initiation phase through project closeout.
