The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Instructional Methods Training Instructor performing all training instructor classroom-related activities, while supporting course curriculum development, modification, and/or revision efforts in initial skills, advanced, and/or supplemental training courses utilizing approved curriculum IAW Air Education and Training Command (AETC) instructions in support of the Faculty Development Flight's mission.

Duties

Instruct students through assigned blocks of instruction at basic and/or advanced technical/administrative levels of faculty development instruction courses. Prepare, maintain, and present diverse material; formulate training aids/devices; maintain classroom decorum; and ensures supplies, equipment, and classrooms are available for training. Research, develop, revise and recommend updates to faculty development course materials in accordance with established learning objectives. Prepare daily lesson plans and demonstrate techniques to trainee instructors and tutor's new instructors on required proficiency levels and areas assigned. Maintain professional and technical proficiency and accomplish difficult, but well precedented special projects related to specialty area, to include staff surveillance visits to various training activities.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Individual Occupational Requirements for1712series and Group Standard forAdministrative & Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of Training Instructor (Instructional Methods). Specialized experience is experience gained while assisting in performing all training instructor classroom-related activities, supporting course curriculum development, modification, and/or revision efforts in initial skills, and/or supplemental training courses utilizing an approved curriculum. OR EDUCATION: Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education or doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a related field. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT TO VERIFY YOUR EDUCATION. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: CCAF requirement: Incumbent (faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force) must meet the minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of College and Schools, Commission of Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. The degree should be in the teaching discipline. If the degree is not in the teaching discipline, the faculty member must have documented experience, course work, and/or other training in the teaching discipline. Knowledge of a wide range of the principles and practical methods, techniques, and tools of instruction to teach a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest. 2. Knowledge of instructional methods and design at a practical level to maintain subject matter experience. 3. Knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives. 4. Skill in accomplishing special training studies and projects. 5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships. 6. Ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
