You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will analyze and implement broad policy and directives by issuing recommendations to improve supply management support. You will access supply related automated database systems to generate reports on material quality inspections and supply inventory. You will accomplish the formulation, justification, preparation and submission of the department's budget requirements. You will assign work to employees based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and capabilities of employees. You will allocate resources (e.g., funds, manpower, facility, space) to execute program operations. You will coordinate supply operations to make certain necessary items are in place to meet mission requirements.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Applying analytical tools and techniques to analyze data and determine trends in order to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of operations and develop recommendations to improve cost and timeliness of supply support; (2) Applying management and leadership principles, and personnel regulations and policies to manage the personnel and workload; (3) Maintaining safety and hazardous material regulations, processes and procedures by ensuring safe handling and adherence to regulatory procedures and policies, and maintaining a safe work environment; (4) Communicating effectively both orally and in writing and (5) Reading and interpreting instructions, supply documents, Maximo reports and material job plans Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
