The Administrative Support Assistant offers technical and procedural advice in support of QPS programs, to include: 1) Systems Redesign/Innovations; 2) Accreditation; 3) Patient Safety; 4) Utilization Review; 5) High Reliability; 6) Risk Management; 7) Infection Prevention and Control; 8) Quality Review, and 9) Peer Review/VASQIP.

Duties

Major Duties: Assist with compiling required documents and submitting FTEE requests for both new and vice positions; Prepare travel requests for domestic travel. Serve as primary timekeeper. Receive and reads all incoming correspondence directed to the department and initiates actions necessary for its proper disposition. Independently prepares, updates, and disseminates assigned meeting agendas electronically to clinical service chiefs and supervisors. Conduct monthly and quarterly reviews of the time and attendance. Act as the QPS Talent Management System (TMS) Administrator. Maintain a service-level records inventory and file plan. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 0730-1600 Position Description Title/PD#: Administrative Support Assistant/PD654-02875-O Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the incumbent sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; set up for educational sessions/educational fairs. No specific physical demands are required to perform the work.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Qualifications: Must be able to type 40 words per minute AND In addition to the typing requirement, you may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Establishes and maintains files consistent with VA records management regulations, places and receives calls, prepares agendas, forms, publications, performs timekeeping duties, and maintains information in applicable database. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
