You will provide administrative support to the program by performing office support tasks, coordinating communications and collecting data from computer application database systems to provide information on resource utilization, quality of care and outcomes.
Duties
Supports the provider staff teams by performing offices work tasks, coordinating communication between patients, families, office staff and healthcare providers.
Assists in the acquisition and development of program resource materials, such as hard needed program equipment e.g., telephones, computers and printers, fax machines, etc.
Assists staff with data entry (i.e. patient information and patient medication) regarding resource utilization and quality of care delivered.
Researches various publications to extract, summarize, and compile information required for the activities of the clinical organization.
Uses software applications to draw information, e.g., from the VISTA/DSS/KLF computer database systems, and/or other data sources to prepare/assist in preparation of reports.
Prepares, executes, and/or tracks program specific information, such as FOIA requests, congressional inquiries, grants, cooperative agreements, and/or contracts within an organizational unit.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/11/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-05) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: preparing, executing, and/or tracking program specific information; using software applications to enter and extract clinical and research data; checking communications to determine message and routing; collecting, compiling and tracking statistical information; acquisitioning and developing program information and resource materials/personnel to support policy development activities; participating in outcome research and quality assurance activities; completing patient scheduling requirements; assisting with data entry regarding resource utilization and quality of care delivery; distributing medical records for release of information clearance and approval; assuring equipment and supplies are obtained; controlling publications, forms, records, and directives.

Typing Proficiency: In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years. Agencies may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts or driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
