About the position: This position will be assigned to the Polar Bowl bowling alley in JBER, AK 99506.
This position is also Full - Time meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 35hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Your schedule will depend on needs of the facility.
Duties
Loads, unloads, or relocates heavy or bulky items from boxcars, trucks, and other conveyances; carries and assembles scaffolding. Digs ditches and trenches with pick and shovel where dirt is hard and compact; does grading and sloping; occasionally and for short periods of time, breaks up pavement with jackhammer; mixes and pours concrete, asphalt, and hot mix; fills and levels holes in damaged roads. Uses heavy (not domestic type) power mowers; adjusts blades, and cleans and oils mowers; cuts trees, using ax or chain saw. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to satisfactorily complete pre-employment physical to include a hearing test.
- This position requires the incumbent to work varied shifts to include weekends and holidays.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Experience which demonstrated the ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions. Physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Work that requires the skills and knowledge in operating heavy equipment, continually involves extreme physical effort; such as, constantly lifting or carrying objects weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more with assistance. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
