You will serve as a Information Technology Specialist (SYSANALSYS/APPSW) in the Supplier Performance and Logistics Systems Department of Naval Sea Logistics Center (NSLC), Keyport Division, Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Mechanicsburg, PA (NAVSEALOGCENKYPTDIVNUWC MECH PA).

Duties

You will serve as a customer interface to confirm/clarify requirements, analyze and translate system requirements into application prototypes, develop applications/systems, determine system infrastructure, and establish data requirements. You will test and assure conformity and quality of products delivered and assure compliance with information security and assurance policy, procedures, and practices. You will apply analytical processes to the planning, design, and implementation of new and improved information systems solutions to meet the business requirements of customer organizations. You will help develop, review, and document test plans, help run the test plans, record, and analyze results and review and document bug fixes. You will develop functional expertise in the business processes for information systems/applications support sufficient to facilitate customer and end user identification and specification of requirements.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 621 level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing Information Technology (IT) Systems Analysis (SYSANALYSIS) and Applications Software (APPSW) support (e.g., web development, software lifecycle) to identify and implement improvements in effectiveness and efficiency (e.g., web application security and best practices). Examples of Qualifying Experience may include described knowledge of the government's Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), knowledge of Oracle Database and/or WebLogic Application Server, knowledge of Bootstrap framework, utilizing languages/techniques (i.e., Java, SQL/PLSQL, HTML/CSS, JavaScript/JQuery, XML, JSON, AJAX, JSP/JSTL). Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
