About the Position: Serves as the Director of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS) Directorate at a medium size location at Yakima Training Center, Washington.
TERM appointment NTE: Position may be filled as a term appointment Not To Exceed (NTE) 3 years. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond 6 six years, but not more than 8 years.
Duties
As program manager, develops, coordinates and executes all plans necessary to accomplish the installation mobilization mission.
Directs the installations personnel security, intelligence and counterintelligence programs.
Provides consultation and advice to supported garrison, tenant and satellite units on all security issues.
Develops and executes all contingency plans necessary for rapid reaction to domestic emergencies, acts of terrorism, and natural disasters associated with earthquakes and weather phenomena.
Directs the work of the organization (mobilization, military training, and security).
Executes all plans essential for the accomplishment of airfield operations, mobilization and contingency planning for rapid reaction to foreign, domestic and natural disasters.
Serve as program manager for military training and mobilization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Position is designated as "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This is an obligated position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience providing program support for military readiness, contingency/emergency missions and strategic programs; developing plans and taskings for mobilization and contingency planning exercises; and providing guidance on mobilization mission. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).
