About the Position: This position is located at the US Military Entrance Processing Command in Denver, Colorado.
Duties
Provide technical expertise, guidance and leadership to the Medical Exam Group.
Coach, facilitate, solve work problems and participate in the work of the MEPS Medical Exam Function.
Screen applicants? records for conducting physical examinations.
Verifies applicants? identify using previously captured biometrics (digital fingerprints and photographs) or captures applicants? biometrics if first-contact with the MEPS.
Provides assistance with the handling of unusual or difficult situations such as priority of emergencies, interpretation of doctor?s orders, managing unruly applicants, etc.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Occasional shift work (before 0600 or after 1800 hours) may be required.
- Occasionally may be required to work Saturdays.
- Applicant must use restrictive and protective clothing (such as surgical gloves); applicant cannot wear exposing footwear.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated/documented experience in providing information to applicants in regards to physical examination processes; performing non-physician medical tests such as ear lavage, optical test, audiometric test, EKG, phlebotomy procedures, or processing of urine specimen; performing administrative duties such as completing medical forms, using personal computer to enter and/or extract medical information or maintaining medical records during the examination process; and training newly assigned employees on physical examination processes and procedure. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
