This position is intended to work with laundry used by the Health Care Systems within VISN 17. The Organizational Location of the Position is in the Waco Laundry Aka Textile Care Processing Facility (TCPF)
Duties
Removes sheets, bedspreads and other items from containers and place sends on clips of spreader feeder for the flatwork ironer, holding items taut as the leading-edge feeds into the pressure roll. At times these or smaller items must be fed directly into the ironer. Receives, stacks and places the correct number of items from the cross folder onto the conveyor or containers. Also, receives small flat partially folded items which he/she stacks and places in proper containers or on conveyor.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Heavy Lifting (45 pounds and over), pulling, pushing, reaching, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, etc. Exposure to various contagion's and infections is a constant hazard as is the danger of cuts and stabs from glass, metal objects and needles found in soiled linen, electrical shocks in equipment and slips on wet floors. Skin rashes and allergies due to chemicals are possible. Incumbent is exposed to hot and humid conditions. Incumbent is exposed to possibility of bruises and minor burns resulting from carts and machinery, and presence of hot steam pipes. The work affects the accuracy, quality and quantity of linens or services within and outside the service.
