About the Position: Will serve as Chief, Navigation Section, US Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District headquarters in the modern 2 Hopkins Plaza building in downtown Baltimore, and within walking distance of the historic seaport, the Inner Harbor, and other attractions. Adjacent to prestigious universities, world-class medical facilities, and cultural attractions. Our mission is to deliver engineering services to strengthen our Nation's security, economy and reduce risks from disasters.

Duties

Performs supervisory and related managerial duties to direct navigation project operations. Assures compliance with public laws, regulations, and policies for the navigation program of the Corps of Engineers Renders technical advice on unusual, controversial, or complex decisions related to Federal navigation projects or program. Makes or recommend final decisions on actions that affect navigation in waters across Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and District of Columbia. Models' high standards of honesty, integrity, trust, openness, respect for the individual by applying value to daily behaviors.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid, State-issued Motor Vehicle Driver's License.
  • Temporary duty travel required 25% of the time.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 upon entering the position and annually.
