About the Position: Fort Eustis is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. There is local transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit bus service to the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach. Convenient interstate and major highways connect the city to the neighboring cities plus York County, Gloucester, Suffolk, and Smithfield.

Duties

Analyze tasker documents and reports and takes appropriate action. Utilize automated systems to review taskers and training for accuracy. Perform various administrative duties in support of the organization. Generate various procurement documents in support of the organization.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Will be required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
  • May be required to travel up to 5% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. TO QUALIFY AT THE GS-05: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes entering data into automated office support systems and ensuring accuracy of information; extracting data from automated office support systems to prepare various correspondence for administrative action; and directing telephone inquiries to the appropriate personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. TO QUALIFY AT THE GS-06: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience procuring supplies or services and assisting with simple purchase orders or other contract actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted at the GS-06 grade level. TO QUALIFY AT THE GS-07: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes distributing contracts and reports in a timely manner, reviewing contracts for administrative and regulatory discrepancies and, preparing and assembling contracts for review an approval. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted at the GS-07 grade level.
