You will serve as a Security Specialist at the GG-12 grade level responsible for utilizing fundamental knowledge of DoD and DoN security policy and directives pertaining to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and overall DoD SCI security requirements for Naval Intelligence Activity (NIA) within the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Policy Division.

Duties

You will conduct security administrative duties to include providing support of Preliminary Requirement reports of security violations, Navy security clearance processes, message handling, E-QIP, DISS and other databases as required. You will provide assistance in the oversight of Navy Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Industrial and other Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Programs. You will conduct on-site security assessment visits (SAV) for compliance with applicable security standards, regulations and operating procedures, and ensure DoD equities are being met.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position may be subject to a polygraph examination on a recurring basis.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS Trial Period.
  • Must have normal color vision.
  • Must have the ability to climb ladders, bend twist, and crawl along floor-ways and under deck plates and equipment.
  • Must obtain Security Professional Education Development (SPED) Program certification at the Security Fundamental Professional Certification (SFPC) level within 24 months of selection.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS/GG-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: Providing support in the execution of security violation reports, security clearance process, E-QIP, DISS and other security databases as required. Conducting on-site security assessment visits for compliance with applicable security standards, regulations, and operating procedures. Providing assistance in the oversight of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Programs.
