The incumbent of this position will provide support to the Director regarding day-to-day operations, providing expert advice, technical support, and coordination for technical operations involving the National Airspace System (NAS) and NextGen efforts. The incumbent will also assist the Director in achieving and maximizing operational Air Traffic goals, providing technical support, aid in strategic planning, facility planning and integrated consensus building across ATO Service Units.

Duties

Serves as a General Manager (GM) of Chicago District (TCAU) in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Air Traffic Services (AJT), Central Service Area. The GM oversees and directs a highly technical workforce in a complex, multi-disciplined organization responsible for the safe, efficient, and structured movement of aircraft within the NAS. Applies extensive technical expertise in NAS systems, equipment and procedures to coordinate air traffic operations, technical workforce found in specific districts consisting of numerous air traffic facilities of varying size, type, and complexity.

• US Citizenship is required.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

• Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
• A one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:1. Must have held an FAA 2152 FG-14 or above regional or headquarters position for at least 1 year (52 weeks);OR2. Must have held a MSS-3 or above position for at least 1-year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
