A successful candidate in this position will serve as aSecurity Specialist to providing management and leadership for implementation of the safeguards and security program at Livermore Field Office and the Lawerence Livermore National Laboratory.
Duties
As a Security Specialist you will:
Serve as the Deputy Assistant Manager, Safeguards & Security (AMSS) and provide executive level security and program management support to the Field Office Management.
Evaluate and monitor security activities and makes substantive recommendations for program improvements.
Provide expert advice and technical assistance to managers and supervisors in a wide variety of areas.
Assist with interface between local NNSA/DOE management and the contractor, and maintain cognizance of all operational activities, both technical and administrative, in providing technical and policy guidance, direction and interpretation. Assist with ensuring contractor and site management are aware of issues and concerns and recommends potential solutions to regulatory, technical and/or programmatic issues and requirements.
Participate in hearings, high level meetings, conferences and special working groups with M&O contractor and other subject matter experts; Federal, state, and local regulators, and oversight entitles.
Qualifications
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA pay band level or GS grade level in the Federal Service, i.e.EN/NQ-03 pay band or GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Experience overseeing and managing the implementation of security policies, procedures, programs, and management systems.
Contributing substantive expertise in formulation, justification, and management of Nuclear Security Program budget elements pertinent to security functions.
Advising senior level management officials to include making security decisions on working problems and direct programs with significant resources.
