Duties

As a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST at the GS-2001-9/11 some of your typical work assignments may include: As a General Supply Specialist the incumbent will function in the area of Nuclear Weapons Item Management for assigned nuclear ordnance items managed by the DTRACA - Activity XB directed as operating agent of a secure database to support the DOD integrated material management of DOE designed and produced nuclear weapons by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Serves as a specialist on nuclear weapons item management functions and nuclear weapons item management policy and procedures. Maintains DOE engineering technical data for nuclear ordnance materiel Federal cataloging. Responsible for the management of the Nuclear Inventory Management and Cataloging System (NIMACS) classified database and other DOD-wide nuclear ordnance programs. Develops and maintains accounting, reporting, and historical records necessary to maintain the national nuclear weapons stockpile database, and functions as the Nuclear Inventory Control Point.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-09, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service: Utilizing supply and inventory management principles and processes to support a supply and/or logistics program; and Managing supply and inventory information and record keeping through a database for accounting, reporting, and/or logistics. OR B. I have a masters or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. You may qualify at the GS-11, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service: Utilizing supply and inventory management principles and processes to support an ordnance program; Interpreting policy, guidance, directives, or instructions to ensure supply and inventory compliance; Assessing a supply and inventory program or its operations for efficiency and effectiveness and making recommendations for improvements; and Ensuring supply and inventory management information and record keeping through a database is accurate and up to date. OR B. I have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. *NOTE: If using education to qualify for the position, failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
